Summer 2025 Update

Dear Cliff Dwellers,

I hope this letter finds you filled with the joy and peace that only Christ can give! As I reflect on the ways God has moved in my life, I can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities He has provided me to serve His Kingdom. As I sit in the midst of summer camp, I am constantly witnessing how God works through camp to help people grow. I’ve seen young campers come to learn about the ultimate hope we have in Christ. I’ve seen staff members who were once anxious and fearful about their ability to lead a group, grow in confidence as leaders and Kingdom builders.

This year, I am excited to return to two mission fields that have been close to my heart—Mexico and Zambia—and I’m eager to see how God will work through camp to change the lives of those in the communities we serve in these countries!

In January, my family and I will head to Mezcales, Mexico for the third time to serve in two communities. This year, I’ll be leading the trip alongside my parents for the first time, and we will be working with local missionaries Lee & Carol Short of Vida Internacional to create a Christ-centered camp experience. It’s always a blessing for our family to return to these communities, where relationships have deepened over the years, and to witness God’s transformative work. My parents will also serve as translators, and I’m excited to work alongside them in this capacity.

In April, I’ll travel to Zambia for my third time to help continue Camp Sonshine’s program in partnership with Partners for Life Advancement and Education Promotion (PLAEP). Together, we will help equip local leaders to build a sustainable camp ministry that will impact the lives of children and young adults for years to come. Serving with the people at PLAEP over the past two years has been one of the greatest highlights of my life. They serve their community, which faces poverty, so well, bringing the light of Christ into a dark place. This year is especially exciting because two members of their team are here in Nebraska serving with us this summer! They’ve been bringing so much value to our summer team, learning along the way so that they can take what they’ve learned back to Zambia and implement it there.

I’m writing today to ask for your support in two ways:

  1. Prayer: Your prayers are the most important way you can partner with me. As Jesus tells us in Luke 10:2, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” Please join me in asking the Lord to strengthen our teams and open hearts in the communities we will serve. I would love to send you regular updates and prayer requests throughout the journey if you’re willing to be on my prayer team.
  2. Financial Support: The total cost for these two trips is $5,000 ($2,000 for the three of us to go to Mexico and $3,000 for Zambia). These funds will cover travel, lodging, food, and ministry expenses, ensuring that we can serve effectively and share God’s love with those we meet. I humbly ask that you prayerfully consider partnering with me financially. Any amount, whether large or small, will make a significant difference.

If you feel led to contribute, here are a couple of options:

  • Online: You can give securely at Camp Sonshine’s Giving Page, and please include “Adrianna” in the comments.
  • Checks: Payable to Camp Sonshine (13440 S 25th St, Roca, NE 68430). Please include “Adrianna” in the note or on a separate slip of paper.

God is doing incredible things through Camp Sonshine in Nebraska and around the world, and I am humbled to be a part of this global mission. If you would like to hear more about the trips or the work we’re doing, I’d love to chat with you!

Thank you for considering how you can support me in this calling. I trust that God will provide everything we need, and I am excited to see how He works through your generosity and prayers.

Blessings in Christ,

Adrianna “Banana” Tarin

P.S. I have a couple fundraisers going on right now! Book a photo session with me or buy some of Mona’s Enchiladas! Ask me about it!
