I hope this message finds you well and full of joy! As we reflect on the recent season, I’m filled with gratitude for each of you and the generosity you’ve shown. Your support means more than words can express, and I want to take a moment to update you on the incredible progress we’ve made, thanks to your partnership.

Camp Sonshine Mexico – A Resounding Success!

I’m thrilled to share that my first trip for the 24-25 season to Camp Sonshine in Mexico was a huge success! This year, we had more staff than ever before (28 to be exact) —a huge blessing that was truly needed, as we welcomed a record number of campers (110 at San Vicente & 60 at Mezcales). We saw an incredible outpouring of energy and enthusiasm from everyone involved, and I know that the Lord truly ordained the team that was brought together. His hand was evident in every detail, from the smooth coordination to the powerful moments we shared with the campers.

One of the goals of our time in Mexico is to infuse some involvement from local kids and teens into what the community centers are already doing. That goal was met and exceeded! We even had 5 local high school students come and volunteer as Assistant Counselors. They were a tremendous help and it’s exciting to know that a program like this is getting started! The Lord was moving in mighty ways, and it was amazing to witness so many young hearts touched by His love. The growth in numbers also brought growth in impact, and we are so grateful for your role in making this possible.

Looking Ahead: Zambia & Summer Camp 2025

The momentum we gained in Mexico is propelling us forward, and we are now turning our eyes toward our next adventure—Zambia. We’re already working to prepare the team and resources necessary to make this trip another success, and we believe the Lord is preparing hearts and hands for this mission.

Fun fact: As I type, some members of our summer 2023/2024 team who are originally from Zambia, are providing an overnight camp experience for over 100 teens! We’ve been getting updates throughout the week and it’s been awesome to see teens who might normally be finding negative ways to spend their school break making memories and learning about God! I’m incredibly proud of our team who have come to Nebraska to be UNLOCKED & UNLEASHED back to their home country to make an impact on the lives of campers!

In addition to Zambia, we’re excited about the upcoming Summer Camp in 2025. The lessons and growth we’ve experienced in Mexico are fueling our vision for even greater impact next year. Your continued support will be critical in bringing these plans to fruition, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for us all.
